Getting Ahead With Seo Is To Learn How To Work With It

Filed under:Biz, Great Marketing Tips, Public Relations — posted on October 19, 2008 @ 8:04 am

Getting ahead with seo means learning how to work with the search engines to bring quality websites, well formatted websites that make it easier for the reader to find what they’re looking for in your page, and quality and unique information.

Following the seo standard is about quality, compliance, and fresh content. The other half of the seo template is off page optimization. With off page optimization the result is to look good in the search engine’s eyes as far as popularity.

Search engines use a technique called link popularity to gauge this. This is essentially getting a link back to your site from an authority site.

The best way to learn seoit’s actually go out and do it. At first while we are learning would search engine optimization is all about, we start to see how it all works together.

Almost nobody goes out right away and uses seo flawlessly the first time. And you get the hang of the learning curve and all the components involved in learning seo, it becomes more of a skill set than about new material.

The beauty of seo is that it is an ever involving science that changes as the search engines change their algorithm, but even then many of the basic stay the same. The basics are essentially quality websites, well formatted websites, and unique content.

Successful Marketing Through Seminars

One of the best ways for potential clients to find out about you and your company is through public speaking. Free seminars attract potential clients. It is a chance for them to get information straight from you. You are the best marketing tool for your business. Speaking to groups is nothing more than a large conversation. It is powerful and efficient marketing.

By making the seminar free, you engender goodwill from your audience. By addressing issues of concern to them, you are validating their perceptions that the topic you are speaking about, is an important one. By offering good, sound, and thorough advice, you establish yourself as an expert.

A number of dynamics take place when you are in front of a group of people. First, you are the center of attention. Each member of the audience feels as if your are speaking directly to him or her. You’re not an envelope that goes unopened. Your are not a telemarketing call that comes at dinnertime. You’re not a television commercial that gets clicked off in favor of another channel. Speaking to a group puts you at the forefront of message delivery and effective communication. You are having a conversation with an audience. Sure, members of the audience can walk out of the room, but of those present, you have their undivided attention.

As you speak, you are also establishing credibility with the audience. Hopefully, this audience has potential paying clients. If they don’t, you shouldn’t be speaking to them. You establish yourself as an expert in whatever you are talking about. People like buying from experts. They feel comfortable buying from people they know and trust.

Give complete information in conjunction with your self-promotion. Don’t hold back, don’t offer just enough information to peak their interest. Elaborate on each topic you choose, supplementing theoretical information with case studies or anecdotes. Establish the depth of your knowledge along with your expertise.

It’s important to understand, that speaking to a group is marketing, not selling. Your speaking should offer something of value, not a direct pitch. Potential speaking topics that are marketing and value oriented are things that are solutions to problems, such as weight loss or money management.

You won’t get 100% of the attendees to become clients. Some people attend such events out of general interest rather than a particular need. But if you dedicate two or three hours of your time one of two evenings a month to addressing subjects with which you are already very familiar, you will see an increase in your client base that will repay your minimal expense and effort.

There are many types of potential audiences. These include community organizations, professional groups, trade associations, and civic groups. Your current prospects and existing customers are also excellent target audiences as well. Here’s an example of how you could promote your free seminar.

Create an ad or mailing piece announcing a free 90 or 120 minute seminar on a subject of wide general interest. Relate the presentation to your specialty. For example, a medical doctor could talk about breakthrough techniques for overcoming, eliminating, or avoiding cancer or arthritis. Another topic could be ten medically safe methods of losing weight. A financial planner or tax accountant could present a seminar on sheltering income.

After a headline announcing the topic, the copy should talk about your credentials, accomplishments, achievements, and any articles that have been written about your practice or specialty. Here’s an example of how your copy might read: “Dr. Wells is a specialist in this subject. He’s conducted research and he’s perfected techniques. He will present a seminar for people interested in the topic but who do not know the facts. This seminar will be held from______ to ______on_______.

Admission must be free but people need to have a reserved ticket in advance for admission. To do this simply give them a number to call or a Web address where they can pre-register. By doing this you can capture their names and addresses for future mailings. You could simply collect names at the door, but by having them reserve a ticket in advance it makes it more professional and easier the day of the event to have your attendees just present a ticket to get in.

Another way to create an audience for a seminar is to contact business and professional organizations, such as the Rotary Club or the local Chamber of Commerce. Offer to speak on subjects of importance to the group. For example, a medical doctor might speak about stress reduction to businessmen and women. A CPA might offer to speak on loopholes still available to corporations after recent tax changes. A lawyer might talk about how to write non-compete clauses, or how to write contracts, or how to patent or license concepts or ideas. In order for the group to invite its members and to get a good turnout, your topic needs to be of major interest to them.

Your seminar should be split into two parts. In the first half, peak their interest with anecdotal information. Then have a short 15 minute break During this break mingle with the audience, distribute your business cards, brochure, or any other information you’ve put together about your business.

In the second half of the seminar, offer some service that’s free but designed to capture valuable information. For example, conduct a quick survey of your audience. This survey should be on something of interest to them, such as a personality profile or something else that ties in with the topic you’re speaking about. Have them respond to 25 basic questions providing their name, address, telephone, and e-mail on the questionnaire. Then when you get back to your office, tabulate the results and send a brief summary back to them.

At the end of the seminar, you will have to establish initial contact for an on-going dialogue. Let them know that you’ll be following up with mailing, or a phone call to get their feedback on the seminar. Let them know that because of their attendance they will receive a free subscription to your newsletter. You’ve captured their names and addresses to add to your prospect list. Don’t let the seminar be a one-shot deal.

Whether your seminar is successful or unsuccessful, it has residual value if you record or transcribe the text. You can and should make a transcript or recording of your seminar and then make it available to both your prospects and current customers.

Send a tape or transcript of your seminar to prospective clients, along with a cover letter telling them that many people who attended your seminar told you that they learned a lot from the presentation. Indicate that you’ve taken the liberty of sending them the transcript or tape recording of the seminar in it’s entirety, in hopes that they will benefit as well. Encourage them to read or listen to it and stress that you hope they’ll find it useful and informative. If they have any questions, invite them the contact you with no obligation on their part.

If they are interested in your services, offer to talk to them in person or by phone to explain your expertise and how your services could benefit them. Provide some case studies. Tell them, since they were unable to attend your seminar, this tape or transcript is the next best thing. And always encourage them to feel free to call or e-mail you with questions.

You can use the tape or transcript in several ways. You can use it as a promotional piece to give to other groups who hire speakers. You can use it as part of selected marketing materials. You can use it to generate word-of-mouth marketing and referrals. Offer it prominently on your Web site. Always remember, the more your prospects and customers see your name, the more likely they are to think of you when they need your professional services.

The cost of speaking is free. When members of your audience receive something of value from you, even if it’s information, they are grateful. When someone is grateful, you have the beginning of a great relationship. So, the more you can speak to groups about your services, the more audiences you can touch and start relationships with. And this means more potential business for you.

Network Marketing, MLM Lead Generation and Filtering Importance

Jim Rohn has said, “The same wind blows on us all.” In reference to how we operate our business, we all have one constraint in common and that is time. It becomes apparent that, as marketers, we should maximize on our action time by effectively communicating with more qualified prospects. The bottom line is if we do that consistently, we’ll produce and recruit more. There’s a common philosophy within network marketing and sales in general that leaders live by: “Professionals Sort, Amateurs Convince.” So what helps in this process? Automation. That is a system that answers the question of “what’s in it for me?” for your prospects and gets them to raise their hand and request further information from you personally. This totally changes the dynamics to the marketer as he/she is now dealing with a warm lead instead of a cold lead.

Sadly, few marketers employ such a system in their marketing efforts and experience frustration in their business which far too often leads to them quitting. Many components are essential in one’s long term success in network marketing and a strong support to bridge the gap comes through the use of a web form. Web forms are an essential way to filter through prospects and plug automated follow up tools into one’s overall system.

Tip #1- Just because your company may provide a web form, doesn’t necessarily mean it is effective. You want to be sure to provide something of value to your prospect. Consider this from your prospect’s perspective. Would you want to give up your information just to receive stuff about how great someone’s company is? You can separate yourself from the vast majority of marketers and create a sustainable competitive advantage by providing up-front value (in addition to your company material) that the prospect can use in his/her overall decision making process.

Tip #2- Be sure that what you are using can be duplicated through out your organization. There’s nothing worse than attributing an increase in your business success to something that another leader in your organization cannot use as well.

Internet Marketing Analysis Can Be Fun!

You’ve heard about it. You’ve read about it. And now you wonder if you can do it: earn a living from home in Internet marketing.

Perhaps you are a mom with young children who wants to work at home. Perhaps you are retired and looking for income to supplement your pension. Or maybe you are the next gangbuster marketer to hit the Internet!

People from all walks of life — even kids in high school — are learning to make money from the Internet and having fun doing it.

They are using Internet marketing analysis to create their strategy. Internet marketing analysis is simply the process of evaluating the various ways you can make money on the Internet and then finding the appropriate marketing methods based on your skills, time, and budget.

Top Ways to Make Money on the Internet

1. Your own products - Create your own ebooks, software, or really anything that has a large enough target market and not too much competition.

2. Resale or private label products - Purchase the resale rights to ebooks and software for pennies on the dollar and then sell them for whatever you choose for almost pure profit.

3. Affiliate programs - Sell other people’s products. Many product developers have an affiliate program in which they pay you up to 50% of the price of the product as a commission.

4. Affiliate networks - CommissionJunction.com and ShareaSale.com represent many companies for whom you can become an affiliate and earn a commission every time someone purchases something from your affiliate link.

5. eBay - Clean out the garage and find treasures to sell on eBay! You can also work with a distributor who ships products. You do the marketing on eBay, and they do the product shipping.

6. AdSense - This is one of the hottest ways to make money on the Internet right now. Just put Google ads on your website and then when people click on an ad you make money. There are also Yahoo and literally dozens of smaller pay-per-click (PPC) programs.

Top Ways to Market on the Internet

1. Websites - List your products or reviews of products on a website or a mini-site, which is basically a one page sales letter. Be sure to use search engine optimization (SEO) on your website so you can get a good search engine ranking.

2. Affiliate websites - When you join an affiliate program, you may get a link to a duplicated website created by the program with your affiliate ID in it. Provide that link to people, and you will earn a commission from their purchases.

3. Opt-in email marketing - Build a list of people who opt in to receive email from you. You can email them your affiliate links or links to the websites that offer your products.

4. Autoresponders - Related to email list building are systems that automatically email your opt-in list at regular intervals about your products and allow you to broadcast to them all at once.

5. Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising - Use Google AdWords to advertise your products. AdWords are those little ads that appear on websites and on the Google search pages.

A good way to perform your Internet marketing analysis is to create a spread sheet. List the top ways to make money along the left, and list the ways to market along the top.

Search for information about the various ways to make money and ways to market. In each cross-section, write your notes on how you can use the particular marketing technique with a particular income source. Be creative and make this fun!

Pretty soon, you’ll have more ideas than you handle. Narrow your plan to just one or two ways to make money to start with, and then add others as you go along. Best of luck … and don’t forget to have fun doing your research!

How You Can Make Money From Competitors Easy

Are you market products and services using PPCs? PPC Advertising is one of the fastest and easiest ways to get visitors, capture email addresses and make sales. However, I am sure not every campaign you created are profitable. For some keywords, you may need to compete with competitors to bid for the clicks. When there are too many competitors making the cost of a click too high, you will not be able to profit anymore.

Now what will you do? In general people will select one of the following two options: Try every method to increase conversion rates, or totally leave the bidding war. Make sense?

And now I am going to introduce the third choice to you:

Make Money from Your Competitors.

So how can you do this? The simplest way is to provide advertising places to your competitors.

There are many methods to sell advertising and here is what I like to do. Create content sites for the keywords, add Adsense blocks and competitor’s affiliate links on the pages and then submit the sites in search engines and market the sites as normal. Now your competitors will pay you money every month!

This method may not make you large amount of money, but it is definitely profitable and will provide you another streams of income. Not bad, right?

And you can apply this in different areas apart from PPC advertising. Just think out of the box and you will profit more.

Cross Promotiion Techniques That Work

Cross promotion is not a new idea. It has been used by businesses for a very long time. For example, a real-estate company may promote a certain lawyer to close a sale. In turn, the lawyer will promote that agency in his firm. The system is somewhat similar to the primitive barter system where people traded items rather than using money. But how can anything primitive fit into the online world of Internet Marketing? Very easily!

A cross promotion is, simply stated, the trading of ad space. Instead of paying for advertising space on a site, you simply place someone else’s business ad on your page and your ad on theirs. There are many ways to use cross promotions in your internet business that can equate to effective and cost efficient advertising.

One way is to use link exchanges. This is very effective when considering cross promoting with a
company that is similar to yours. However, you should avoid linking to a page that is in direct competition with yours. One of the biggest pluses for using link exchanges is that some search engines are factoring in hits from the sites that are linked to your page when determining the ranking. Therefore, linking to a more popular site can not only increase your advertising and traffic, but also your search engine ranking.

When customers or potential customers subscribe to your ezine, you can use this as an opportunity to use cross promotions. On the same page that the customer subscribes to your ezine, make available the opportunity to subscribe to another company’s ezine. You can even exchange ad space in ezines and provide recommendations for those with whom you cross promote. You may even want to exchange column space in one another’s ezines.

Writing free articles that inform customers or potential customers with information that is useful
and accurate can create a reputation for you and your business. Readers will quickly come to know you as an expert on that subject. In these articles, the author uses a byline to help promote his site. Bylines are yet another way to use cross promotions. You can use part of the space in your byline to recommend someone else’s product.

If you have been considering writing an ebook, a joint venture could mean increased profits for you and the person you are partnering with. Cross promotion through ebooks is an excellent way to allow for a wider topic and promote both your business and your partner’s business. The ebook should contain information that will benefit both businesses but remain helpful to the reader. A good example of using cross promotions through an ebook is a site selling used video games partnering with a site selling gaming devices: two subjects that would interest the same reader and most likely lead the reader to both sites.

You should keep in mind that the recommendations you make are a direct reflection of you, so choose
your’ cross promotional businesses carefully. Also keep in mind that it would be nice as a shopper to be able to link from one site to another as a way to “shop around”. Also, never link or recommend a site that’s in direct competition with you, since this is not usually beneficial to you. Instead, recommend those that are similar, such as health and life insurance.

The Seven Secrets of a High-Sales Marketer

If you want to boost your website sales to the next level, you’ve got to think and act like a high-sales marketer. Here’s how:

1. Think sales not just traffic. Pay-per-click advertising is a great way to pull targeted traffic. Could anything be better? In many cases, pay-per-SALE advertising is a better choice. With pay-per-clicks, you may or may not make sales. With a pay-per-sale arrangement, there’s very little or even NO risk. You only pay when you make sales. Affiliate programs and joint ventures are examples. Set up deals where you pay only for each sale.

2. Persuade traffic become customers. Be sure your website is doing the best sales job it can. Does your website persuade 1 percent of visitors to become customers? Can it do better? This is the most overlooked yet easiest way to build sales. If you change your website and it converts 2 percent of visitors to buyers instead of the previous 1 percent, you’ve doubled sales. Make your website persuade better.

3. Capture prospects. When a visitor comes to your website, he or she wants something. Yet, 98 out of 100 visitors will click away from your website without buying. If you can’t make the sale, at least get them to give you their email addresses. You do this by offering a newsletter or free report. Once you do this, you have a list of prospects to contact systematically. You can make sales to them in the future and without much expense.

4. Follow up with prospects. Don’t be content to have a mailing list and never mail to it. Send a series of emails to prospects. You can automate this so it doesn’t take much time. And it can be very effective in creating more sales.

5. Follow up with customers. They have already trusted you enough to buy once. If your product or service is valuable to them, they are likely to buy again, but only if they don’t forget about you. Stay in contact with your customers. Don’t just send them ads. Send emails that say you care about their success.

6. Know what works. Most webmasters have no idea what is or is not working for them. Pay-per-sale advertising makes this simple, but you probably will use other marketing methods. That’s great as long as you track results. High sales marketers track their marketing methods to see which ones brought CUSTOMERS.

7. Do more of what works, whatever it is. It’s easy to get caught up in doing the next great marketing method. Test other marketing ideas, but keep doing what works. If you create and distribute a press release and that brings buyers, do more of this. Keep doing it until it stops working.

Communication Breakdown - Don’t Let It Happen To You

Do you have Communication breakdown?

How are you communicating with your contacts?

We need:

Contacts we can send emails to regarding our business
opportunities.

Contacts we can build up a good working relationship with,
similar interests as far as business opportunities go.

Contacts we can share how we are going with our business
opportunities.

Contacts we can trust to be honest with us about what, how,
when and why, as we operate our business and opportunities.

Contacts we can become friends with, even though we are on
other sides of the world and may never meet but can be open
with each other like good friends are.

With all these contacts there is one common factor
—COMMUNICATION. yes that’s right communicating with
each other.

I have been amazed how much one can gauge by sending emails
and receiving emails in return. A lot can come through in
the written word. Mostly I don’t think we even realise how
much of our personalities we show when we send an email.

Of course so many emails we receive, are not written by the
sender, they are written by an experienced copywritter.

There are also many operating online for years and years who
have never written an email using their own words yet they send
emails daily to our inboxes.

They do this very well. so have never even thought to
compose a message to their contact list, this is a shame. It
is a shame because they have never given their contacts a chance
to get to know them.

The same thing goes for their contacts. Some of my contacts
have never sent me an email about anything, I may be
interested in their opportunities and may like to offer them
to my contacts.

So you see, communication is a huge part of this Internet
Marketing. It is advertising, but more importantly it is
communciation and communicating with each other.

The trust we build when we communicate helps with our
everyday life on the Internet. So let You show and let
others get to Know You.

I have found it hard not to write the way I was taught in
school, Sister Mary Hitemharder gave me a good grounding in
English writing and old habits are hard to break, but I am
learning. Because we are not face to face, it is best to
write as though you are talking to the person. Less formal
and not intimidating and the more you do it the easier it
becomes.

Some people seem to have the knack, but if you talk to them
they have worked hard to achieve the easy style.

So start tapping at those keys and put your own words up
there on the screen and let others get to know you. Put your
personality out there and you will be surprised at the
rewards you will receive.

I remember one email I received very early in my online
activities. I didn’t act on this offer straight away, let
the email sit there for a day or so. It had one of those
sections at the bottom for the earnings of the sender. I
must admit they looked very good. So I was considering
this very seriously and being very new to it all, was a
little cautious.

A couple of days later the same subject line appears in my
mail box but the sender is different and guess what? These
two people had earned exactly the same amount of money on
exactly the same days. I thought that amazing, what an
enormous coincidence. Now really!!!!

This is what I mean about writing in your own words. It
would have been better for both these people to write that
it is possible to earn good money with this program and not
take someone’s earnings as their own.

Needless to say those offers I wouldn’t waste any time on,
just press the ‘D’ key and, away they go, to the
Dump folder.

Do yourself a favour and write to your lists, let it be
you. I for one will look forward to reading your mail.

So how are your contacts going? Do you know? Take the
plunge, write and find out. Communicate, don’t have
communication breakdown.

5 Quick and Easy Steps On HOW-TO Send Your Website A SURGE O

Copyright 2005 The IWE, LLC. All Rights Reserved.

What I’m about to reveal to you in this article will literally change the way you look at ‘Amazon’ forever.

As you know, Amazon is a buyers market place and is a VERY powerful search engine for products of all sorts, especially Books.

Now, you’re probably saying to yourself, “yeah, I already know that about Amazon, but how do I get my share of Amazon’s traffic?”.

Well, I’m going to answer that question in just a few moments, but first, here’s just some of the benefits you’ll receive once you’ve ‘Set-Up’ what I’m about to show you:

- you’ll position yourself as an Expert within your Niche

- you’ll receive Highly Targeted traffic to your website

- you’ll be able to build a HIGHLY targeted ‘Opt-In’ list

Those are some pretty Powerful benefits wouldn’t you say?

And who would of ever guessed that Amazon could deliver this to you.

I only recently learned of this tactic myself from a Very well known Internet marketer who was kind enough to share it with me.

So now, I’m going to do the same for you.

Are you ready to see what Amazon can do for your Business and Credibility?

Enough said, lets get started.

Step #1. Set up a account with Amazon.

This is the easiest part of the whole task. Simply go to http://www.amazon.com and set up an account for yourself.

This should only take a few minutes and is very straight forward.

Step #2. Click on your “Your Name” Store tab.

Once you’ve set up your account you should have been given a password in order to login to your account.

If you’re not logged in already, login now.

Now, from within the members area there should be a row of tabs at the top of the members area, click on the one that says “Your Name” Store(ex. ‘Corys Store’ tab).

This will take you to a different area with a different sub-menu.

Click on the tab in the sub-menu that says “About You Area”.

Step #3. Setting up your “About You Area”.

Now this is where you have to pay ‘Special Attention’ because this is what people will see when they click on your ‘About You’ tab.

Assuming you are at the ‘About You Area’ you’ll notice that you have spots available to put your Picture, Name, Nickname, eMail Address, Real Name and About Me.

Go ahead and fill out all the area’s accept your ‘About Me’.

The ‘About Me’ spot is what I’ll talk about in the next step, but for now, just fill out all the other area’s and if you want to put up a picture of yourself, you can, it’s up to you.

Step #4. Setting up the ‘About Me’ section.

This is probably the single most important part of this whole process because this is where your potential customer will read about who you are and what you and your business is all about, so do take this seriously.

Now, you have about 4,000 characters of space to write up a description about who you are and what your business is about, so its up to you on how long you want your description to be.

Before you start writing your description this is what You have to do First within the first 70 to 80 characters of your ‘About Me’ description and I’ll show you an example of how mine looks so you’ll be able to see this in action.

(ex. About me: Hi, I’m Cory Threlfall and I’m the Editor/Publisher of ‘www.internetwondersezine.com’ which is a …)

Do you see what I’ve done?

I’ve incorporated my ‘Domain Name’ in quotes into my First 70 to 80 characters of my description so when they click on my ‘About Me’ and read my profile they’ll also see my Domain Name, and if they wish to find out more about me they can either ‘Copy and Paste or Type’ my domain into there browser which will then bring them to my website where they can either ‘Subscribe’ to my newsletter or read my sale copy which will then get them to Opt-In to my newsletter.

This is where the ‘List Building’ starts to take place from the traffic sent through Amazon.

Now, we’ve already established that Amazon is a High Traffic website and now that you’ve set up your ‘About Me Area’ the way I’ve outlined it above I’m now going to show you how to direct Amazon’s traffic to your website.

Step #5. Directing Amazon’s traffic to your website.

This is where the fun starts. And once you see How its done you’ll probably kick yourself in the butt like I did when I was shown How-To do this.

What we need to do now is a little exercise so you’ll see for yourself how you’ll tap into Amazon’s traffic.

So, we know that Amazon is best known for Books, so click on the ‘Books’ tab within Amazon’s members area. This will take you to a different page.

In the upper left corner you’ll see a ‘Search Books’ search box.

Now, for the purpose of this exercise, just so that we’re on the same page, lets use ‘internet marketing’ as the search term.

So, go ahead and type that in and press GO!.

You should now see a bunch of listings on books related to ‘internet marketing’.

Scroll down and select the “33 Days To Online Profits” link. This will bring you to its Product Description page.

Within this Product Description page you’ll find Product Details, Editorial Reviews and most important of all, All Customer Reviews.

Notice I said “and most important of all, All Customer Reviews”.

Thats right, all you need to do is ‘Write Reviews’ on books within your particular Niche and when potential customers are reviewing the book you wrote the review on and they scroll down and happen to read your review and click on Your Name to see what you’re all about, guess what they’ll see?

They’ll see your profile with your Name, Nick Name, eMail Address and your ‘About Me’ description with your Domain Name screaming out at them which can easily be typed into there browser.

There you have it, “5 Quick and Easy Steps On HOW-TO Send Your Website A SURGE Of Amazon’s Traffic For FREE!”

I truly hope you see the benefits of writing reviews and how it will make you look in the eyes of your potential customer.

This is a great tactic to use if you’re looking to establish yourself as an Expert within your Niche and at the same time, build a HIGHLY targeted ‘Opt-In’ list that you can market to for years to come.
