Do You Know How to Buy and Read eBooks!

Now, I know what you’re probably thinking, “Reading and eBook is just like reading an ordinary book.” I disagree. Here’s way, If you’re here reading this article then I’m pretty sure you’ve read your fair share of eBooks, and most likely most of those eBooks were on the topic of internet marketing, making money from home, home based business opportunities, and on and on right? The reason that eBooks are ready differently than your normal novel is because of the way they are sold.

Here’s what I mean… When you go to Borders to and pick up your favorite mystery novel you you’re not given a hard sell on the benefits of buying that mystery novel right before you make the decision to buy or not. At a book store, you buy a book because you decide you want it or YOU decide you need it for some particular task. No big promises are made as to the results that you will after you learn the books “hidden secrets”, so you take the book at face value.

Now, things are totally different when you buy an eBook. So, let me go through the steps and the psychology that I used to go through when I bought an eBook. I think you might find some this pretty familiar…

First I would happen across the sales page through some link, usually while searching for some sort of information that can help me earn money online. Then, I was hit with a powerful headline that says “Do XYZ after learning my SECRET and YOU to can make $1,000,000 TODAY!” I’d stop and say hmm… that sounds interesting let me read a little more about this secret to see if I can figure out what it is.

Next, I’d get sucked into the sales page which would take me on an emotional rollercoaster which left me a burning desire to know what this author’s secret is and led me to believe that I couldn’t live without this information. I would then ponder on the idea of making $1,000,000 today and ask myself “what if this information really will make me rich how much would it be worth?”

At this point I’d consider paying for the secrets, but only if the price was right. So, I start looking for the sales price which is always hidden deep in the sales page somewhere where you can never find to decide whether or not I was going to buy it (Finding the price of an eBook is kind of like playing “Where’s Waldo?” you know it’s there somewhere but you just can figure out where. )

When I finally found it, if the price was right I buy it. Then in a sort of nervous anxious rage I would download my new treasure and rip through it until I foundd the “secret” hidden deep within. When I did find the secret I was usually a little let down because it was either something that I probably could have figured out myself or it seemed to hard or it would take to long…. Then I threw the book aside until the next secret came along that struck my fancy.

Maybe this isn’t exactly how you approach eBooks, but it is how quite a few people do. I hope you see the flaw in this sort of information acquisition. Most people, in my estimation, buy eBooks to find out the hidden secret within and not to actually learn and apply what’s in the book. The sales prose on the sale page does such a good job at selling the person that they need to know that secret that that ends up being the major reason they purchase the information, That is most people don’t buy eBooks as an information resource they are simple buying the secret. They rip through the eBook and when they find whatever secret it was they were looking for it’s almost as if they are satisfied with that alone.

Please never do this! You will find yourself wasting a lot of money and put yourself on an expensive and frustrating emotional rollercoaster.

So,

Here is the correct way to buy and read an eBook:

First:

Only buy an eBook if you are sure that it is something that will absolutely help with your task at hand. For example, if your in the process of creating an affiliate website don’t buy a eBook that will teach you how to create an opt-in list until the task at hand is completed. Buying extra information products will only confuse you and stop your forward progression in whatever task it is that you are currently doing if they are off subject.

Second:

When you do find supplemental information to help you with your task at hand save the sales page and wait a week before you buy the book. If you come back in a week and the you still feel the information will be extremely helpful purchase the book. (Tis is much easier said than done!)

• Tip: If the eBooks is on some sort of basic information there is usually a forum somewhere where you can ask an expert first hand your specific question and get real time valuable information for FREE. Try this first. You may be pleasantly surprised with what you learn.

Third:

When you do buy the eBook take it slow. Print it out. Pick up a highlighter and relax in your favorite easy chair. Take notes. Come up with your own and write down your broad takeaways. Then use the individual tips and strategies contained in the eBook one at a time. Track your results and trouble shoot.

That’s it!

If you follow the three simples steps above you’ll find yourself spending much less on eBooks and getting much more mileage out of those that you do buy. As a final word of advice, take eBooks at face value just like any other book and never buy an eBook just because you want to learn some secret and you’ll be just fine.

Friends, it’s time to get ‘favor-minded’

According to God’s word, his favor surrounds us like a shield.

Wow, that is an awesome thought.

You ought to write Psalm 5:12 on an index card and tape it to your refrigerator.

I did!

“For surely, O Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.”

God didn’t put anything in the book he didn’t want us to take to heart, and I really feel 90 percent of the problems we blame on the devil would be eliminated if we just started disciplining ourselves to view our circumstances through the eyes of God.

As Christians, I know we all believe God’s word. But ask yourself this question: If the Living God, creator of everything seen and unseen has supernaturally surrounded you with his favor and provision, why are you worried about the light bill?

Nine times out of ten, we are fretting and worrying because we have chosen to believe the enemy’s assessment of our situation instead of God’s.

When our minds start believing the enemy’s lies, we need to remind ourselves of what God says about us. Doubt and unbelief may cause you to feel that you are not good enough, or qualified enough, or attractive enough.

Tell the enemy, outloud, that according to God’s word you were wonderfully and fearfully made and you are well able to do exactly what God has called you to do. When the enemy lies to you and tells you you’ll never get married, you declare to him that your God will withold no good thing when you walk uprightly.

When the money is running low in the checking account and rent is due, throw your hands up toward the sky and thank the Creator of everything that he supplies all of your needs according to his riches in glory.

It is this type of faith and expectancy that activates God’s promises and provision in your life. Concentrate on becoming favor-minded. In every situation and in every circumstance, realize his desires for you are to prosper you and not to harm you (Jer. 29:14).

In every circumstance or trial you face:

1. You must admit that God is fully able to meet your need.

2. Find promises in his word that directly relate to your need and clearly illustrate that he wants to meet that need.

3. Declare, outloud, his promise so he, the enemy, and you can hear it. Repeat it every time doubt or fear try to raise their ugly head again.

4. Pray and wait on him.

Folks, when we combine prayer with a new commitment to saturating our mind with his word, we are conducting spiritual warfare.

In 2 Corinthians 10, Paul writes that “the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”

It is very interesting that his next sentence deals with cleaning up our thought life.

He admonishes us to take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ (2 Cor. 10:5). Every thought that disagrees with God’s assessment of your situation should be met instantly with a promise from his word.

If you are disciplined and make this a habit, you will continually walk in a process of renewing your mind with God’s word.

Once you begin to get your thinking in line with his thinking, you will see the doors supernaturally fly open around you and you’ll walk in the favor of God like never before.

Now, it is extremely important for you to keep in mind that you have an active role in seeing God’s goodness come to pass in your life. If you eat junk food three times a day, your body is going to deteriorate. You can quote Isaiah 53:5 until you are blue in the face. If you are not taking the proper steps to take care of your body, you are not doing your part.

God gave you wisdom. Use it. Don’t expect God to make a miraculous deposit in your bank account and dig you out of a hole when you haven’t been faithful in giving and you’ve wasted your money on other things.

This message is for those who are faithfully walking after Jesus, putting him first place in every area of their lives.

If that is you, he shields you with his favor. His blessings are chasing you down! You are blessed coming in and blessed going out! By his stripes you were healed! Get all this in your spirit…if God is for you, who can be against you?

Like the blind men in Matthew 9, your need will be met “according to your faith.” Are you believing for a touch from God to heal your body, or are you afraid your situation might get worse?

Do you know in your heart he plans to bring a healthy love relationship into your life, or are you worried that this one will be a painful failure like the rest?

Are you convinced your business will explode so you can provide an abundant life for your family and seed for God’s kingdom, or are you a little concerned the economy is going to take another downturn?

Are you trusting him to bring the unsaved members of your family into his kingdom, or are your convinced some of them are too far gone?

Today, I encourage you to begin reprograming your mind with the promises of God. You are highly favored by the creator of the universe. He has wonderful plans for your life.

Don’t take my word for it! Get into his word. Read what he says about your situation…

Then, believe it!

Frugal Lessons at Home. Raising Happy Children

“Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship.” - Buddha

The kids are back in school. While there is an eerie peace about the house, I will truly enjoy the quiet days ahead. While the kids are off to learn their abc’s and 123’s at school, don’t forget the lessons they learn at home are often the most important.

For many years I was a single parent. Finances were always a difficult challenge. I lost count of how many times my kids expressed the desire to have something that one of their friends had and in fact “everyone but them” had. I eventually realized that the best way to deal with these feelings was to give them the gift of perspective.

Since being happy is mostly a mindset determined by our perspective of what happiness is, the best thing I could do for my kids was to give them the proper perspective to always be happy with what they had, rather than unhappy about what they didn’t have. Teaching them that so many others did not even have the very basics of life’s necessities, as they did, would help them appreciate what many of us take for granted.

Even when I think of it now, I really sounded so corny; my insistence that we should be happy with what we have because so many others did not even have the basic necessities of food, shelter, and love. But, I truly believed it. I was thankful to have what I had and desired nothing more than what I needed to sustain myself and my children with the basic needs. I entered a life of frugality out of necessity, but grew to understand the many benefits of such a life, and more and more began to want nothing more.

Being frugal by choice gives a certain peace of mind, and happiness, that is hard to explain. I guess one of the reasons my lifestyle brings peace to me is because the feelings of inadequacy we sometimes have, because of our wanting more (or wanting what “everyone else” has )are non-existent. I actually feel my life is adequately fulfilled by the simple basic needs. I have eliminated the longing for more.

The feeling that my life is not as good as it should or could be, or as good as “everyone else’s”, is just not there. If I choose to indulge in a luxury item or something I merely want, it is because “I want it”, not because “everyone else has it.” It is amazing how true happiness can come with nothing more than a change in perspective.

When we understand that our purpose in life is to bring something of value to society, rather than owning everything considered valuable to society, happiness is a natural consequence. If I could teach my children the same I would not only do them a great justice but, the rest of the world as well. When you bring something of value to society, you see value in yourself. Seeing value in yourself brings happiness. I feel that raising happy children, who find happiness in bringing something of value to society, is one of the most valuable things a parent can offer the world.

Raising happy and content children in today’s world is just one more difficult challenge for parents. Offering your children a different perspective could prove to be the answer to raising “happy” children. Our society is more and more status driven. Your children’s perspective of their status could play an important role in determining if they can be happy with their lives. Status is measured a great deal by the material owning of things. A measure of one’s status is many times a consequence of what one owns.

Teach your children that looks can be deceiving. Not everyone who acts like they have wealth, actually have wealth. I like to remind my children of our own situation. How we have to struggle to get back to living within our means because of trying to keep up appearances. Many people are spending money they just don’t have in an attempt to keep up with the joneses and “appear” to be wealthy. I remind them that, like ourselves, one day they too will probably have to pay a price for their pretending. That is not to say that there are not families who have no financial worries and actually are blessed with abundance.

It is important, if not essential, to your child’s success in life to teach them to look beyond appearances. Things are not always as they seem. Teaching them little lessons like this will engage them in analyzing all things they encounter in life and getting to the reality and truth of situations they are confronted with.

For example, when confronted with choices your children will be equipped to look to the essence of anything. They will do better in life to see the true advantages, or disadvantages, of all things, when not influenced by mere appearances. Giving them this perspective will give them a great advantage in pursuing their goals in life.

Let me reflect on a personal story that touched me so that I will never forget it. Remember, I constantly reminded my children from a very young age that we had more than many others, and should be thankful for having what we do have, not sorrowed by what we didn’t have.

One energetic day I decided to rearrange the furniture. Now let me interject that we lived in very confined quarters, myself and four small children. Even the doorways were more narrow than that of the average home since our home’s foundation was built around a narrow older mobile home. This rearranging was a very ambitious task to say the least. But, I was determined to incorporate some change into our lives on that day!

So, I began a long day of frustration. Since our home was so small, there were not a great many options for arranging the furniture. Well, the grandest moment of truth came to me on that day. I learned for a fact that my children were in fact listening. That my constant reminders were not in vain. I was trying to move a bed from one room to another. And, having an extremely difficult maneuver through a narrow doorway, I cried out in frustration; “I’m so sick and tired of these doorways. I just want normal size doorways like everyone else.” Well, I didn’t even have time to reflect on my own statement when, my son (who was only 8 years old at the time) said to me, “Remember Mommy, we have to be thankful for what we have, some people don’t even have a place to live.” I was speechless of course, and very near a flood of tears. While I stood astounded at the comment, coming from the mouths of babes, I pushed back the urge to cry at the revelation that my son did understand what I had been trying to teach him. The realization, and consolation, came to me then, that he would always be successful in life no matter what hardships may face him.

The lessons we teach at home could prove to be the most important lessons in life. Happiness is a natural consequence of contentment. Teach the lessons at home that will give your children the perspective to be content and happy!
